About the position

The Instructional Coach for Career & Transition Services at Benhaven Inc. is responsible for providing academic support, career development guidance, and life skills training to young adults with autism and developmental disabilities. This full-time position focuses on helping individuals transition successfully into post-secondary education, vocational training, or the workforce, ensuring they develop essential job readiness skills and achieve their career goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in developing career goals and creating individualized transition plans
• Provide academic support, including tutoring
• Support individuals in developing job readiness skills, such as resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation
• Facilitate workshops and group sessions on topics related to career exploration, workplace etiquette, and personal finance
• Collaborate with teams to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for individuals
• Monitor and track progress, collect data on outcomes, and report on program effectiveness
• Attend meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices in career and transition services
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

• Must have a CT driver's license & insured vehicle to transport individuals in the community
• High school diploma, some college preferred
• Experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities preferred but not necessary
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer software applications helpful
