About the position

The Instructional Math Coach at New Paradigm For Education (NPFE) is responsible for supporting teachers and instructional staff in implementing high-quality math curriculum and instructional practices. This role focuses on building teacher capacity to drive student achievement growth, particularly in closing achievement gaps in reading and enhancing overall student learning. The coach will work closely with teachers, providing real-time support and professional development to ensure effective instructional strategies are employed in the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional leadership to teachers and staff for successful curriculum implementation.
  • Coach and develop teachers on lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional practices.
  • Design and host targeted professional development opportunities for instructional staff.
  • Conduct regular curricular pedagogy meetings with full participation from teachers.
  • Support classroom instruction through co-teaching, modeling, and real-time coaching.
  • Review student achievement data and make recommendations for instructional adjustments.
  • Coordinate assessments and support the execution of the assessment process.
  • Organize and track curricular materials and resources for staff and students.
  • Create staff development plans based on student data and observations.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify students for supplemental services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in education.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in assigned content area.
  • 5+ years of teaching experience.
  • Experience using Success For All curriculum (preferred).
  • Skilled at using data to inform instructional practice.
  • Experience leading adult learning and developing teachers for improved student outcomes.
  • Understanding of instructional needs for Multilingual Learners and diverse learning differences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with diverse communities and strong relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of effective reading instructional practices.
