About the position

The Instructional Coach for Pre-K to 2nd Grade at Jackson Public Schools is responsible for providing ongoing, job-embedded professional development to teachers, aimed at improving student achievement through enhanced instructional practices. This role involves collaboration with school leaders and teachers to align curriculum and assessments with state standards, analyze student data, and implement evidence-based strategies to foster teacher growth and student success.

Responsibilities

• Work with school leaders to design and provide professional development focused on improving curriculum alignment and delivery.
• Collect and analyze student data to diagnose instructional and management needs and identify strategies for improvement.
• Provide job-embedded professional development for teachers, including modeling lessons, co-teaching, and collaborative planning.
• Offer feedback on instruction, classroom management, and culture to facilitate teacher reflection and growth.
• Assist teachers with resources and materials to support planning and classroom instruction.
• Develop and maintain a coaching and support schedule that maximizes teacher availability.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of campus data and develop coaching plans for teachers.
• Serve as a member of the school's Leadership Team and attend district-level training and meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of successful teaching experience.
• Minimum one year of school/teacher leadership experience.
• Experience in the development and presentation of professional development programs.
• Familiarity with the tenets of adult learning.
• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Current state certifications with appropriate licenses.
