About the position
The Instructional Coach plays a vital role in early childhood education by providing coaching and mentoring to teachers and program staff. The position focuses on promoting effective classroom instruction and ensuring that educational practices meet the developmental needs of children. The coach will support teachers in implementing instructional strategies, assessing student learning, and developing curriculum tailored for preschool education.
Responsibilities
- Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers and program staff in early childhood education.
- Promote effective and developmentally appropriate classroom instruction.
- Support teachers in implementing instructional strategies and assessing student learning.
- Develop and demonstrate lessons that accommodate individual differences.
- Assist teachers in establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Monitor screenings, observations, and documentation of student progress.
- Organize and conduct professional development workshops and training sessions.
- Assist in the appropriate assessment of children's development to support referrals and individualization.
- Monitor classroom setup and teacher/child interactions using the CLASS system.
- Stay current with research on best practices in early childhood education and develop training materials.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and stakeholders to foster a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Generalist EC-6 certification.
