About the position

The Instructional Coach at Glenwood Elementary School will play a pivotal role in enhancing literacy instruction across the curriculum. This position involves collaborating with teachers to develop and implement effective instructional strategies, guiding them in improving their teaching practices, and ultimately aiming to boost student outcomes. The coach will also engage in research and data analysis to inform instructional decisions and evaluate the effectiveness of the support program.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an instructional leader in the development, implementation, and coordination of literacy instruction across the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with teachers in designing instructional units and lessons.
  • Engage teachers in learning new instructional skills and strategies.
  • Research, analyze, and disseminate current research and resources on instructional practices that align with school improvement goals.
  • Use data and analysis of students' learning to assist classroom teachers in making decisions to improve instructional practices and interventions.
  • Develop a plan to evaluate the instructional support program's effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Valid Professional Educator License.
  • Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, school improvement processes, technology use, and student assessment systems.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred teaching endorsement in English and/or Language Arts.
  • Preferred Master's Degree in reading and/or curriculum instruction.
