About the position

The Instructional Curriculum Designer will play a pivotal role in developing and managing curriculum for new educational programs while also collaborating with faculty to maintain the curriculum of existing programs focused on organ and tissue donation and transplantation. This position is essential for successfully integrating technology-based learning into the curriculum, which includes retooling existing materials and creating new content that meets the needs of professionals in the field. The designer will be responsible for ensuring that the curriculum is not only educationally sound but also engaging and accessible to a diverse audience. In this role, the Instructional Designer will support the planning, development, organization, administration, and evaluation of new educational programs. This includes creating presentation slides, facilitator outlines, participant materials, learning objectives, and competency testing materials. The designer will also be tasked with registering users, uploading courses, developing learning paths, and generating reports to track progress and effectiveness. Additionally, the role involves administering Virtual Classroom Trainings and OnDemand programming, which includes maintaining learner communications, monitoring discussion boards, and hosting weekly webinars. The Instructional Designer will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop instructional materials that effectively convey policies, procedures, systems, or skills that require instruction. This includes producing materials for various delivery methods, such as instructor-led and distance-based learning. The designer will also review and revise content based on feedback from clients, supervisors, or other stakeholders, ensuring that the curriculum remains relevant and effective. Furthermore, the designer will actively promote both instructor-led and distance-based learning opportunities and assist in developing marketing materials to promote the Institute's offerings, including newsletters, flyers, and social media posts. Maintaining the company website and updating it with events, articles, and links to industry-specific news will also be part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, development, organization, administration, and evaluation of new educational programs.
  • Create presentation slides, facilitator outlines, participant materials, learning objectives, and competency testing materials.
  • Register users, upload courses, develop learning paths, and generate reports.
  • Administer Virtual Classroom Trainings and OnDemand programming, including maintaining learner communications and hosting webinars.
  • Retool and update existing courses and course segments to distance-based learning.
  • Develop instructional materials by collaborating with SMEs to understand policies, procedures, and skills requiring instruction.
  • Produce instructional materials for various delivery methods, including instructor-led and distance-based learning.
  • Review and revise content based on feedback from clients, supervisors, or stakeholders.
  • Actively participate and promote instructor-led and distance-based learning opportunities.
  • Create and pursue relationships with potential Institute lecturers and SMEs in collaboration with Institute leadership.
  • Assist in developing marketing materials to promote Institute offerings, including newsletters, flyers, and social media posts.
  • Assist with maintaining the company website, updating events, articles, and links to industry-specific news.

Requirements

  • Degreed individual ideally with a Medical School or University background (Masters preferred with a concentration in education, instructional design, or instructional technology).
  • 3-5 years of successful curriculum development for external use including instructor-led eLearning, blended learning, and mobile solutions.
  • Creative individual with experience designing eLearning programs that are graphically and visually creative.
  • Demonstrates effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and assessment and evaluation skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation, project management, and organizational skills, including effective time-management skills with the ability to prioritize, schedule, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability and experience facilitating meetings and presenting technology-related information to non-technical learners with varying backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design theories, models, and applications, methodologies of online and hybrid course delivery, quality course development and standards, and learning management systems.
  • Experience with Absorb LMS is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Articulate 360, Zoom, WordPress, Mailchimp, and the Microsoft Office suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with graphic design tools for creating visually appealing eLearning content.
  • Familiarity with the organ and tissue donation and transplantation field.
