About the position

The Instructional Designer at the Center for Teaching and Learning is responsible for collaborating with faculty and stakeholders to design and develop effective curricula and instructional materials. This role includes providing support and training for the Learning Management System (LMS), conducting quality reviews of instructional materials, and implementing new technologies to enhance teaching and learning. The position requires strong pedagogical and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to professional development in instructional design.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty, subject matter experts, and various stakeholders to design curricula, instructional materials, and assessment strategies.
  • Support and train users on the LMS.
  • Maintain processes for the review and the improvement of instructional material quality.
  • Participate in committees and service work related to instructional design.
  • Research and implement new instructional technologies.
  • Stay current with trends in instructional design and technology associated with the delivery of instruction.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Curriculum Design, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in faculty development, teaching in higher education, or instructional design.
  • Experience in developing educational curricula and programming.
  • Knowledge of course design, pedagogy, and assessment at the post-secondary level.
  • Ability to work with a broad range of university constituents including administration, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various educational technology tools.
