About the position

The Instructional Designer & Content Architect at Postman plays a crucial role in developing training content and self-paced courses for the go-to-market team. This position focuses on enhancing the onboarding experience and ongoing skills development for new hires, ensuring that the sales team is equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in a rapidly growing environment. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to identify training needs, create engaging content, and manage learning programs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop training content and self-paced courses for new hire onboarding, everboarding, and skills development for the go-to-market team.
  • Apply proven instructional design theories and adult learning principles to create engaging and relevant content that enhances learning transfer and retention.
  • Collaborate with the new hire onboarding program manager and subject matter experts to identify the training needs of the target audience.
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and stakeholders.
  • Create learning objectives that match identified training needs and design content that meets those goals.
  • Manage, own, and update training content in LMS and CMS in collaboration with department standards.
  • Produce hands-on exercises, activities, and assessments that align with the content and learner, designed to reinforce learning.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple learning programs with various levels of complexity and time-critical deliverables throughout their entire life cycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience designing and producing learning content for software applications.
  • Skilled in course development.
  • Experience managing, organizing, and updating Learning Management Systems and/or Content Management Systems (preferably Highspot).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate product features, specifications, and technical complexities into accessible learning content.
  • Strong editing, writing, and communication skills with the ability to create clear instructional content and scripts, and to edit others' work to meet department standards.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality content in dynamic, fast-paced environments with rapidly changing products.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in revenue enablement, sales, solutions engineering, or customer success for a SaaS organization.
  • Experience with sales engagement tools such as Gong and Highspot.
  • Experience with start-up cultures.
  • Experience using Postman and/or developer tools.
