About the position

The Department of Teaching Innovation and Learning Technologies at Fort Hays State University (FHSU) is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Instructional Designer to join our team. This position is perfect for individuals with a background in teaching who are passionate about technology and eager to learn about instructional design. The Instructional Designer will report directly to the Assistant Provost for Teaching Innovation and Learning Technologies and will work closely with faculty members to enhance online courses and support innovative teaching strategies. This is an on-campus position located in Hays, Kansas, a vibrant college town that offers a rich community experience. In this role, the Instructional Designer will collaborate with faculty to integrate appropriate technology into their courses, assist in designing engaging online learning activities and assessments, and provide support and guidance throughout the course development process. The successful candidate will learn and apply instructional design principles and best practices for online education, contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new educational technologies, and participate in professional development activities to stay current with educational trends. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Education, Technology, or a related field, along with at least two years of teaching or related experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with diverse colleagues and have a basic familiarity with learning management systems such as Blackboard Learn.
