About the position

Lions Clubs International is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our team, dedicated to empowering service through effective learning programs. As the largest service club organization globally, we support over 1.4 million members in their efforts to tackle significant challenges facing humanity. The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in the design, development, maintenance, distribution, and evaluation of culture-specific leadership development and job-specific learning programs and resources. These learning programs may be web-based and/or blended products, and the designer will implement the ADDIE model or similar methodologies to create engaging and effective learning content. In this role, the Instructional Designer will be responsible for coordinating projects, facilitating webinars, and providing leadership development guidance to Lions around the world. The position requires collaboration with faculty and colleagues to analyze instructional outcomes and ensure the delivery of high-quality learning experiences. The designer will also conduct needs analyses, develop evaluations, and assess the effectiveness of programs and curricula. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and has a strong background in eLearning design and development. The Instructional Designer will create realistic learning objectives, design a variety of instructional materials, and actively participate in blended learning project teams. The role also involves reviewing translated curriculum materials for accuracy and understanding the nuances of designing materials for diverse audiences. The designer will prepare reports, lead strategic planning, and coordinate communications with various departments to ensure clarity and consistency in program delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, maintenance, distribution, and evaluation of leadership development and job-specific learning programs.
  • Implement ADDIE or similar methodologies for creating learning content.
  • Coordinate projects and facilitate webinars for Lions leaders and volunteers globally.
  • Design instructional materials for online programs and web-based learning aids.
  • Collaborate with faculty and colleagues to analyze instructional outcomes and enhance learning experiences.
  • Conduct needs analysis of curriculum and assess program effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports and lead webinars and in-person meetings for orientation and training.
  • Write and coordinate communications with program teams and other departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience with eLearning design and development for corporate or nonprofit training.
  • 1-3 years of experience designing with Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally; approximately 5-10% travel time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leadership development training.
  • Familiarity with blended learning approaches.
  • Knowledge of curriculum translation processes.
