About the position

The Instructional Designer - Entry Level position at USAA involves collaborating with experienced designers and subject matter experts to create impactful training experiences for employees. The role focuses on updating and refining training materials to ensure they are current and effective, contributing to the overall learning programs within the Claims Learning team. This position offers an opportunity for professional growth and skill development in instructional design.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with designing and developing interactive facilitator-led and online content to meet the learning needs of the business.
  • Assists with the development of timelines and milestones.
  • Ensures consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines.
  • Develops an understanding of the business, its products, and processes to assist with the design and development of learning curriculum.
  • Gathers information and analyzes data trends under direct supervision.
  • Assists team with the resolution of issues and identifies appropriate issues for escalation.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in instructional design and instructional technology, including training industry experience and advanced knowledge of instructional design tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, project management skills, multi-tasking, and project flexibility.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Property or Auto Claims.
  • Instructional Design Degree and/or Certifications.
  • Experience with Jira Project Management or similar project management tool.
  • Experience with learning development tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Products, Vyond, etc.).
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
