About the position

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a full-time Instructional Designer for the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences within the College of Medicine. This position plays a crucial role in providing instructional design support for both current and new online courses, catering to faculty, students, and staff. In this position, the Instructional Designer will be responsible for developing and supporting online courses according to established procedures, ensuring that instructional materials align with sound design principles and standards. The designer will utilize a variety of software development tools and assess the effectiveness of online learning experiences, making revisions based on feedback. Additionally, the role involves creating effective assessments that align with student learning objectives and course competencies, contributing to ongoing research and evaluation of online courses and programs, and maintaining open communication with business partners. The Instructional Designer will also research, evaluate, and integrate new educational technologies to enhance student learning within online courses. Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty and subject matter experts in the development of online and technology-facilitated courses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience in course building or course design.
  • Six years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
