About the position

The Analytics Instructional Designer plays a crucial role in enhancing the use of analytics within the health system by developing training curricula and presentations. This position involves both onsite and virtual instructor-led training, creating documentation for end users, and providing support for Epic Reporting and Analytics. The designer will also manage help desk tickets, support new hire training, and collaborate with the training team to optimize analytics usage in Epic.

Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in the training team based on clinical or business expertise.
  • Design, plan, organize, and facilitate computer and procedural training programs for HFHS employees and community physicians.
  • Develop assessments to measure employee knowledge and skills, maintaining documentation of results.
  • Identify problems and report trends to the Implementation and Training Manager, recommending training programs and process improvements.
  • Design and implement new processes to improve the training department's image and productivity.
  • Monitor industry changes and revise training programs accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal and external staff to conceptualize new procedures or programs.
  • Assess training needs before, during, and after each class, adjusting delivery based on feedback.
  • Develop strategies for enhancements to lesson plans and training delivery approaches.
  • Provide management oversight for credentialed trainers, including scheduling and reviewing evaluations.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience with specialized information systems in a clinical healthcare environment or clinical/healthcare training experience.
  • 3-5 years of computer-related experience, preferably in a medical clinic or hospital setting.
  • Instructional Design experience preferred.
  • Experience with EMR training and/or implementation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HFHS clinical and operational workflows is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Epic certification candidate preferred; certification required within first 90 days of hire.
  • Prior knowledge in training and/or implementation of healthcare information technology solutions.
