About the position

The Analytics Instructional Designer at Henry Ford Health is responsible for developing and delivering training curriculum and presentations to enhance the use of analytics within the health system. This role involves creating documentation for end users, managing help desk tickets for Epic Reporting and Analytics, and providing support during onboarding and ongoing education. The position requires flexibility in work hours to accommodate the needs of the user community and involves organizing and conducting training programs for Epic applications.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in system IT and Reporting initiatives to develop training curriculum.
  • Create documentation to assist end users with analytical tools adoption.
  • Provide at-the-elbow and remote support to end users.
  • Manage help desk tickets for Epic Reporting and Analytics.
  • Support Epic new hire and new leader training and onboarding.
  • Design, plan, organize, and facilitate training programs for HFHS employees and community physicians.
  • Design assessments to measure employee knowledge and skills and maintain documentation of results.
  • Identify problems and report trends to recommend training and education programs.
  • Monitor industry changes and revise training programs accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal and external staff to conceptualize new procedures or programs.
  • Assess training needs before, during, and after each class and adjust training delivery as needed.
  • Provide management oversight for credentialed trainers, including coordinating schedules and tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, clinical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience with specialized information systems in a clinical healthcare environment or clinical/healthcare training experience.
  • 3-5 years of computer-related experience, preferably in a medical clinic or hospital setting.
  • Epic certification preferred, required within first 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in EMR training and/or implementation.
  • Knowledge of HFHS clinical and operational workflows.
