The Instructional Designer plays a crucial role in enhancing the learning and development capabilities within Cook County Health (CCH). This position is responsible for systematically assessing, developing, delivering, and evaluating e-learning education, skills, and performance initiatives aimed at ensuring the continuing competence of both clinical and non-clinical health care personnel. The Instructional Designer will create engaging e-learning modules, live virtual sessions, and in-person training that adhere to best practice standards of interactivity, functionality, innovation, and learner engagement. The role requires a deep understanding of how to facilitate knowledge retention and transfer to the job, ensuring that all training materials are relevant and applicable to the workflows within various CCH settings. In addition to developing training content, the Instructional Designer will serve as an ambassador for integrating new technologies into the learning processes at CCH. This includes collaborating with subject matter experts to define learning outcomes, competencies, and content for training modules. The position also involves managing the Learning Management System (LMS), generating usage reports, and providing user support to ensure effective training delivery. The Instructional Designer must reflect the mission, vision, and values of CCH, adhering to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program while complying with all relevant policies and regulatory standards. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying gaps in user understanding and quality of learning experiences, leading to the continuous improvement of existing training programs. The Instructional Designer will also be responsible for creating training evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training initiatives and ensure that they meet the needs of the organization and its employees.
