About the position

The Instructional Designer I plays a crucial role in developing interactive online courses for both credit and non-credit programs. This position involves collaborating with faculty to define course objectives and methodologies while providing technical support under general supervision. The focus will be on media and instructional technology to enhance the learning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of robust and interactive online courses.
  • Work one-on-one with faculty to identify course learning objectives and teaching methodologies.
  • Implement instructional technology tools for online content preparation and production.
  • Support the development of assessment tools and other course parameters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with some instructional design or technical support experience, or a master's degree.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in web/new media content preparation and production.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in distance learning technology in higher education or K-12 environments.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems such as Schoology and D2L.
  • Experience in teaching, training, multimedia authoring, curriculum development, or IT.
