About the position

The Information Services Instructional Designer I plays a crucial role in the implementation and maintenance of technologies within the WakeMed health system. This position is responsible for creating and managing training content, maintaining the Master Training Environment, and ensuring effective system utilization by end users. The role requires a solid understanding of adult learning theories and the ability to apply this knowledge through various methods and mediums. The Instructional Designer will provide ongoing support to end users, facilitate communication with the technology team, and assist in translating system changes into actionable requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage training content for system environments.
  • Maintain and update the Master Training Environment.
  • Convey system utilization to end users effectively.
  • Provide ongoing support to end user groups and act as a liaison to the technology team.
  • Translate needed changes into requirement documents for the Application Analyst.
  • Assist with testing and implementation of system changes.
  • Observe workflows and provide at-the-elbow training to support standard work.
  • Provide training and support for organizational initiatives as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • EPIC Certification in Area of Responsibility required within 6 months of hire.
  • Certified, licensed, or registered in field of practice preferred.
  • Associate's Degree in a related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5 years of related position experience required with required education or 3 years of related position experience required with preferred education.
