About the position

The Instructional Designer I at WakeMed Health & Hospitals plays a crucial role in the implementation and maintenance of technologies used throughout the health system. This position is responsible for creating and managing training content, maintaining the Master Training Environment, and ensuring effective system utilization by end users. The role requires a solid understanding of adult learning theories and the ability to apply this knowledge in various training methods. The designer will also provide ongoing support to end users and act as a liaison between them and the technology team.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage training content for system environments.
  • Maintain and update the Master Training Environment.
  • Convey system utilization to end users effectively.
  • Provide ongoing support to end user groups.
  • Act as a conduit to the technology team for challenges and solutions.
  • Translate needed changes into requirement documents for the Application Analyst.
  • Assist with testing and implementation of system changes.
  • Observe workflows and provide at-the-elbow training to end users.
  • Support organizational initiatives through training and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Associate's degree in a related field required.
  • 5 years of related position experience required with required education.
  • 3 years of related position experience required with preferred education.
  • EPIC Certification in Area of Responsibility required within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified/Licensed/Registered in field of practice preferred.
