The Materials Science and Engineering department at the University of Arizona is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Instructional Designer I to join their team on a temporary basis. This position is expected to last under 89 days and will involve collaboration with faculty, particularly Dr. Muralidharan, to design and develop curriculum and online teaching modules specifically focused on semiconductor processing, packaging, and device technology. The role requires a proactive approach to creating engaging learning materials and evaluating learning objectives to ensure effective educational outcomes. In this role, the Instructional Designer I will assist in the design and development of course content, which includes creating learning materials, developing skill assessments, and managing the uploading and formatting of course materials. The designer will also be responsible for developing online teaching modules, which involves creating a comprehensive online course environment, integrating appropriate learning technologies, and ensuring that all materials are properly linked and accessible to students. Quality control is a critical aspect of this position, as the designer will need to ensure that all preparatory materials are accurate and ready for student use. Additionally, the Instructional Designer I will create supporting materials such as graphics, audio, video, and simulations to enhance the learning experience. Maintaining confidentiality regarding educational materials, including course protocols and exam questions, is essential. The position may also involve additional duties as assigned, providing a dynamic work environment that encourages creativity and innovation in instructional design.
