About the position

The Instructional Designer I plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining training materials for technology applications within the healthcare sector. This position involves oversight of training initiatives, mentoring Technology Trainers, and ensuring quality assurance in training delivery. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to facilitate effective training adoption across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop end user training and support materials for technology applications.
  • Assist with quality assurance of training materials and delivery.
  • Provide general direction and oversight to Technology Trainers, offering guidance and support.
  • Build and test training environments for assigned applications.
  • Travel to OSF and PointCore entities to ensure effective communication and coordination of application training adoption.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and 2 years of experience in healthcare, adult education, developing training materials, or online curriculum development OR Associate's degree in business administration, computer science, education.
  • Epic certification within one year of hire and Epic TED certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse groups.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software and experience developing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to operate effectively at all levels of the organization, including EMR users and project teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing online education training materials.
  • Experience as a Trainer.
  • Knowledge of assigned application and healthcare workflows.
  • Ability to provide quality assurance on detailed training curriculum.
  • Demonstrated success in motivating and presenting new functionality and system implementations.
  • Ability to effectively train designed curriculum in a classroom setting.
