About the position

The Instructional Designer I at Stanford Health Care is responsible for developing effective online training programs for staff and providers. This role involves assessing, planning, developing, delivering, and supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) and technology education. Instructional Designers create eLearning content and manage an online knowledge base to facilitate remote training, while also evaluating the impact of training initiatives to enhance future offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain digital content (eLearning, snippets) for assigned areas.
  • Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to create digital training solutions.
  • Provide reports to stakeholders on training completion rates and volumes.
  • Assign eLearning modules for required training.
  • Complete administrator duties within the Learning Management System.
  • Manage and report various Informatics Education metrics and surveys.
  • Assess, design, develop, and maintain online training materials.
  • Collaborate with trainers, educators, and subject matter experts for effective training delivery.
  • Integrate organizational policies into educational programming.
  • Document and monitor new hire EHR/Technology competency.
  • Support communication regarding complex system changes.
  • Validate online training curriculum and recommend improvements.
  • Provide training completion reports to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technologies, Adult Learning, or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of instructional design experience.
  • Knowledge of health care workflows and EHR/Technology functionality.
  • Experience with the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred.
  • Skills in project management and adult learning theory.
  • Ability to develop instructional materials and communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with health care regulations and compliance.
