About the position

The Instructional Designer I position at Nemours Children's Health in Jacksonville, Florida, is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and conducting training and educational programs for Nemours Associates. This role involves providing instructional design expertise for various learning modules delivered through in-class instruction and online formats. The position requires performing all facets of instructional design, including needs analysis, module development, and evaluation of educational resources, while consulting with departments on training needs and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction to individuals and groups in various formats.
  • Perform all facets of the instructional design process: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Maintain records of instructional development and training activities, including assessment grades and evaluations.
  • Support and respond to questions regarding learning systems and tools, such as the LMS.
  • Maintain Epic certification(s) to provide support to Epic Analysts and end users.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert and primary writer in projects for software applications.
  • Format and publish materials for print and web delivery.
  • Create original graphics and visual resources.
  • Deliver synchronous web-events.
  • Develop interactive resources using tools like Captivate, Articulate, Snagit, and Camtasia.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Media, Instructional Design, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year experience required, or completion of internship.
  • Previous experience in education or training required.
  • Experience with software applications for developing educational materials and experiences for in-class and online delivery.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
  • Experience with Learning Management System and industry standards such as AICC and SCORM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Epic electronic medical record certification preferred.
  • Experience with HTML/webpage development and learning management systems.
