The Instructional Designer I position at Olgoonik Corporation involves designing and developing curriculum in alignment with the Instructional Systems Design model, Training and Performance Standard Operating Procedures, and Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards. This role is crucial for ensuring that training materials meet the necessary educational standards and effectively address the needs of adult learners. The incumbent will work closely with the curriculum manager, other instructional designers, subject matter experts, and multimedia specialists to create comprehensive lesson plans, student materials, and instructional media that facilitate effective learning experiences. In this role, the Instructional Designer will apply principles of Adult Learning Theory to all training materials, ensuring that the content is relevant and engaging for adult learners. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and editing lesson plans, presentations, activities, and other course materials. The designer will also identify appropriate training delivery mechanisms and assess training gaps, making recommendations to minimize or eliminate these gaps. Conducting needs assessments and developing clear learning goals and objectives are essential tasks that will guide the curriculum development process. The Instructional Designer will monitor courses and instructors against established performance criteria, perform course evaluations, and maintain a course development schedule throughout the development cycle. Staying current on policy, law, and technology changes, as well as skill requirements and office directives, is vital to ensure that the curriculum remains up-to-date. Additionally, the designer will assist in maintaining curriculum records, scheduling and conducting curriculum reviews, and tracking revision history to ensure compliance with FLETA accreditation and adult education standards. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines and participate in every facet of the Instructional Design process under supervision. The role does not involve supervisory responsibilities, and the employee will require guidance and support in their work.
