About the position

The Instructional Designer (ID) & Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for overseeing instructional design and LMS administration at the university. This role involves collaborating with faculty to develop and deliver online and hybrid courses, ensuring alignment with educational standards, and managing the LMS to facilitate effective learning experiences. The position also includes training faculty on LMS usage and maintaining the system's functionality in coordination with the Office of Information Technology.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to design, develop, and deliver online and hybrid courses.
• Guide instructors in best practices for online course content curation.
• Verify alignment of activities and assessments with learning objectives.
• Ensure all courses meet university quality standards.
• Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities for faculty on LMS usage.
• Manage the review and revision of online courses for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with OIT for installation and maintenance of LMS applications.
• Manage the link between the Student Information System and the LMS for course accessibility.
• Assign instructional and supervisory roles in online courses.
• Monitor system updates and communicate with relevant parties regarding LMS modifications.
• Support LTID team activities and initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree in learning/instructional design, technology, education, or a related field.
• Post-secondary experience in instructional design, educational technology, or online education.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Blackboard Learn Ultra, Ellucian Colleague, and Informer.
• Knowledge of current instructional design models and practices in higher education.
• Experience in course development and training.
