About the position

The Instructional Designer II position at the University of Arizona focuses on developing a comprehensive curriculum for chip manufacturing education. This role aims to bridge the educational gap from community colleges to graduate programs, ensuring students are well-prepared for careers in this evolving field. The designer will collaborate with faculty, create learning materials, and implement effective pedagogical strategies, particularly in distance learning and virtual reality environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop an integrated curriculum focusing on chip manufacturing.
  • Create learning materials and evaluate learning objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of skill assessments associated with produced learning materials.
  • Collaborate with faculty from community colleges, undergraduate, and graduate programs to ensure the curriculum meets educational and professional needs.
  • Implement inclusive pedagogical strategies for diverse learning environments, focusing on distance learning and virtual reality platforms.
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the curriculum, making adjustments based on feedback and industry trends.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Engineering Education, Curriculum Development, or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience in curriculum development and evaluation, preferably in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working with community colleges or technical schools in curriculum design or educational partnerships.
  • Experience with the use of Virtual Reality environments to provide lab experiences to remote students.
