The Instructional Designer II at Texas A&M University plays a crucial role in the design and development of innovative, high-quality online, hybrid, and face-to-face learning content. This position is situated within the Mays Business School, a vibrant learning organization that aims to advance the world's prosperity through impactful knowledge and transformational leadership. The Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with faculty, subject matter experts, and staff to create digitally enhanced courses that foster student engagement and interactivity with course materials, peers, and instructors. The role requires a deep understanding of instructional design theories, principles, and best practices, as well as the ability to apply these to develop effective learning experiences across various modalities. In this position, the Instructional Designer will independently meet with faculty and subject matter experts to design and develop engaging learning content that aligns with course objectives. They will facilitate the learning design process by creating learning objectives, curating accessible content, and designing interactive activities that promote active learning. The Instructional Designer will also be responsible for building learning content in the TAMU Canvas environment, evaluating course quality using established rubrics, and managing multiple projects while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. Additionally, the role includes providing training and resources to faculty on best practices in teaching and learning, as well as supporting them in utilizing digital learning tools effectively. The Instructional Designer II is expected to stay abreast of emerging trends in online instruction and pedagogy, particularly regarding copyright issues and accessibility. This position may require evening or weekend work, and the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
