About the position

Clemson University is seeking an Instructional Designer II to join its Curriculum Delivery Team. This role focuses on designing and developing innovative training content for the implementation of Workday@Clemson and other business transformation initiatives. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with faculty, staff, and subject matter experts to create engaging educational experiences that enhance learner adoption and engagement across the university.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and develop courses, resources, job-aids, technical guides, videos, and other related content.
  • Independently facilitate the design process by developing objectives, completing needs analyses, and writing curriculum plans.
  • Create and curate accessible and engaging learning content that promotes active learning.
  • Design learning activities that encourage interactivity with the content and among learners.
  • Build content using tools such as Microsoft Office, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, or Articulate Rise.
  • Apply project management practices to learning design projects from start to completion.
  • Monitor project progress, troubleshoot roadblocks, and communicate with the director about project status.
  • Manage and maintain a digital asset library for learning design projects.
  • Design lessons and select content, methods, and materials to achieve learning objectives.
  • Present content in various modalities including face-to-face, virtual, hybrid, and recorded formats.
  • Conduct formative and summative evaluations to assess instructional materials' effectiveness.
  • Facilitate peer reviews and analyze data to measure learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience on a year-for-year basis, or a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in instructional design or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and Universal Design for Learning principles.
