About the position

The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 11 universities, a comprehensive health science center, eight state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop training materials that support a curriculum for learning how to use various workplace technologies.
  • Develops high-quality and accessible video, online courses, PowerPoints, job aids, reference guides, and instructional text for a variety of shared technologies.
  • Supports the department with instructional design needs such as needs assessment, storyboarding, creating, and monitoring product development timelines.
  • Identifies and recommends the use of instructional strategies, technologies, and applications.
  • Leads others through the design process.
  • Support seasonal multimedia product updates based on new technology updates and implementations.
  • Supports the department in providing consultations on best practices for utilizing multimedia to facilitate learning experiences in support of quality end-user experience.
  • Assists with the departmental website and ensures the accuracy of its information along with providing technical support.
  • Supports the department's annual IT Shared Services Conference.
  • Utilizes a variety of technologies to both develop materials and store files.
  • Evaluates materials and processes for continuous improvement including the use of data collection and synthesizing data.
  • Effectively documents standard procedures for developing, updating, and publishing training materials.
  • Analyzes technical problems with products and uses systematic processes to provide solutions and document solutions implemented for future use.
  • Follows departmental procedures for maintaining products in a safe and secure environment.
  • Actively participates in planning for new development projects and at times leads the development efforts as needed.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks according to competing deadlines.
  • Communicates status updates on work regularly to team members and departmental leadership.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development and stays current with research, trends, and best practices in Learning & Development, Learning Technology, and instructional design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Knowledge and application of learning, adult learning theory, learning technology and theory and practice.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and how to apply ID models used to design and develop instruction.
  • Mid-level skills in using eLearning authoring tools such as Storyline and Adobe Captivate; video development and editing skills using technology such as Camtasia.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to plan work according to deadlines and adjust as needed independently.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines while leading and/or collaborating with others.
  • Ability to work and build rapport with, speak in front of, and facilitate small groups (SMEs, presentations) representing diverse populations.
  • Strong professional communication skills both written and verbal (technical and business).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail, quality, delivering results, handling and maintaining confidential and sensitive information, as well as care and concern for customers and our team.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
