About the position

As an Instructional Designer II at TEKsystems, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of training programs that meet the needs of our diverse audience. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of instructional design methodologies, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training materials. You will be responsible for creating both Technology-Based Training (TBT) and instructor-led training (ILT) packages, ensuring that they are tailored to the specific needs of the audience based on thorough data collection and analysis. In this hybrid role based in Plano, Texas, you will work on-site two days a week and have the flexibility to manage your hours to support the development and delivery of workshops, which may occasionally extend beyond the typical workday. Collaboration is key in this position; you will consistently engage with team members and stakeholders to maintain focus on achieving results and meeting deadlines across multiple projects. Your responsibilities will also include developing expertise in the instructional design process, which encompasses analyzing audience needs, job tasks, and creating curriculum maps, storyboards, flowcharts, performance objectives, testing strategies, and learning activities. Regular communication with development stakeholders is essential to ensure the successful implementation of projects, and you will be expected to solicit feedback from peers and managers to enhance your performance and capabilities. Additionally, you will learn to utilize metrics to manage and assess deliverables effectively, confidently articulate the value of training, and present training KPIs and impacts to the sales organization.

Responsibilities

  • Use up-to-date knowledge and skills associated with analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training.
  • Access and use expert resources to design and develop training.
  • Determine audience needs and adapt program design accordingly.
  • Design and develop Technology-Based Training (TBT) and instructor-led training (ILT) packages based on data collection and analysis.
  • Work flexible hours to support the development and delivery of workshops, which may exceed the typical workday.
  • Collaborate with team members in a highly engaged manner.
  • Maintain focus to achieve results and meet deadlines for multiple projects.
  • Develop expertise in instructional design process methodology, including audience analysis, job tasks, curriculum maps, storyboards, flowcharts, performance objectives, testing strategies, and learning activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with development stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Solicit feedback from peers, staff, and managers to enhance performance and capabilities.
  • Utilize metrics to manage and assess deliverables.
  • Utilize internal processes, tools, and systems for on-time delivery.
  • Seek guidance for prioritization and review of deliverables.
  • Articulate the value of training and make recommendations to Sales Leaders that address specific business needs.
  • Present training KPIs and impacts to the sales organization.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience in adult learning/education design and development, instructional design, or a similar capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct end-to-end analysis for learning needs.
  • Ability to design performance-based courses aligned to identified objectives and target population characteristics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with metrics and data analysis in training contexts.
  • Familiarity with sales organization training needs and strategies.
