About the position

The Instructional Designer - II position is a long-term contract role that offers the flexibility of remote work. The primary focus of this role is to develop training content for various teams within the client's business organization. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for creating both instructor-led and virtual learning assets, which include functional new hire training, continuing education, and training for priority business initiatives or products and services. This position requires a strong background in instructional design and development, as well as technical writing skills to capture process documentation for performance support. In this role, the Instructional Designer will analyze learning needs and collaborate with subject matter experts and clients to provide input for course content and design. The designer will work closely with other training workgroups and stakeholders to ensure the development of effective training materials using an agile approach. Additionally, the position involves designing knowledge and skill assessments, role-plays, activities, and job aids based on the needs analysis conducted. The Instructional Designer will also be responsible for ensuring the relevance, quality, and accuracy of tools and processes by conducting end-user testing and validation. Another key responsibility includes the creation of trainer certification materials and leading Master Trainer certifications as part of the program rollout and launch. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written communication skills and be proficient in eLearning development tools such as Storyline, Rise, and Camtasia, as well as graphic design software like Snagit or Photoshop. This position is suited for individuals who are passionate about instructional design and eager to contribute to the development of effective training programs.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of Instructional Design and Development experience.
  • 2-3 years of Technical Writing experience.
  • Proficient skills in eLearning development with Storyline, Rise, and Camtasia.
  • Great written communication skills.

  • Advanced adult learning skills.
  • Proficient program management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google (G-Suite) skills (Sheets, Slides, Docs).
  • Digital Content Management experience (Adobe Experience, WordPress, etc.).
  • Expert graphic design and editing skills with Snagit or Photoshop.
