About the position

Clemson University is seeking an Instructional Designer II to join its Curriculum Delivery Team. This role focuses on designing and developing innovative training content for the implementation of Workday@Clemson and other business transformation initiatives. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with faculty, staff, and subject matter experts to create engaging educational experiences that enhance learner engagement and adoption across the university.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and develop courses, resources, job-aids, technical guides, videos, and other related content.
  • Independently facilitate the design process by developing objectives, completing needs analyses, and writing curriculum plans.
  • Create and curate learning content that is accessible, engaging, and promotes active learning.
  • Design learning activities that promote interactivity with the content and between learners.
  • Build content using tools such as Microsoft Office, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, or Articulate Rise.
  • Apply project management practices to learning design projects from start to completion.
  • Monitor progress, anticipate and troubleshoot roadblocks, and communicate frequently with the director about project progress.
  • Design lessons, including the selection and organization of content, methods, and materials needed to accomplish learning objectives.
  • Conduct formative and summative evaluations to assess the effectiveness of instructional materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Proficiency in using instructional design tools such as Articulate Storyline and Camtasia.
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Workday or similar ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and Universal Design for Learning principles.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management.
