About the position

The Instructional Designer II at Samford University is responsible for providing instructional design services to faculty and staff, focusing on the development of instructional and learning content across various modalities. This role emphasizes customer service and collaboration with subject matter experts to create engaging learning experiences, while also supporting the integration of instructional design concepts and learning technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional design services to faculty and staff for various courses and trainings.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop engaging learning content.
• Work with faculty to design and develop academic courses in different modalities.
• Design, prepare, and deliver workshops and one-on-one sessions on instructional design methods.
• Conduct course reviews of online courses to ensure quality and effectiveness.
• Provide technical support to end users for the learning management system.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in developing and supporting online learning content.
• Experience with learning and development software such as Articulate Storyline and Rise.
• Proficiency in media software including Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Skilled in using learning management systems and academic technologies relevant to higher education.
• Strong training and end-user support skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a customer service-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Quality Matters standards and review process.
