The Instructional Designer II will spend a significant portion of their time (75%) supporting faculty and students by designing eLearning modules and courses, providing technology support, and facilitating professional development opportunities. The role also involves operational responsibilities (15%), such as maintaining databases that track campus services for online students and evaluating the effectiveness of distance education resources. The remaining 10% of the role includes performing other duties as assigned, which may vary based on departmental needs. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop eLearning modules and courses in collaboration with instructors.
  • Provide awareness of campus resources and services available for online/distance students.
  • Offer coordinated and effective technology support and professional development to instructors and students.
  • Build and maintain databases that serve as a comprehensive record of campus services for online students and instructor accomplishments in Distance Education.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of distance learning resources and services provided to students.
  • Establish and monitor benchmarks related to the provision of distance learning services and resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
  • Two years of related experience in instructional design.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of online course design principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and instructional technologies.
