The Instructional Designer II at Olgoonik Corporation plays a crucial role in the design, development, and evaluation of curriculum tailored to meet the standards set by the Instructional Systems Design model, Standard Operating Procedures, and Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards. This position is integral to ensuring that training materials are not only effective but also compliant with federal regulations. The designer will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including program offices, subject matter experts, multimedia specialists, and distributed learning designers, to create comprehensive lesson plans, student materials, and instructional media that enhance the learning experience. In this role, the Instructional Designer will apply principles of Adult Learning Theory to all training materials, ensuring that the content is relevant and engaging for adult learners. Responsibilities include designing and developing training solutions, implementing and evaluating these solutions, and conducting needs assessments to identify training gaps. The designer will also be responsible for developing course materials, including planning documents, student and instructor materials, and course presentations, while ensuring adherence to a course development schedule throughout the development cycle. The Instructional Designer will monitor courses and instructors against established performance criteria, perform course evaluations, and provide necessary support to achieve and maintain FLETA accreditation requirements. This position requires a proactive approach to staying current on policy, law, and technology changes, as well as skill requirements and office directives, to ensure that the curriculum remains up-to-date and effective. The designer will also participate in internal and external meetings as an expert in instructional design, providing weekly updates on course activities to the curriculum manager.
