About the position

As an Instructional Designer Intern at ABB, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects that contribute to the Electrification Business. This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in instructional design, engineering, or a related field. You will be working onsite and will report directly to the Technical Training Manager. Your role will involve supporting ABB's operations while enhancing your personal education and employment opportunities. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed, showcasing your expertise in developing training solutions that align with ABB's business objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include providing technical training solutions to internal, external, and end users. This will involve creating a variety of training content, including online e-learning modules, instructional videos, and instructor-led delivery materials. You will be responsible for all assigned product training requirements, ensuring that the training materials are maintained, improved, and updated as necessary. Additionally, you will assist in the needs assessment process, making suggestions to enhance the design and innovation of training programs or materials. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other Instructional Designers and subject matter experts to develop train-the-trainer materials. This will help improve the demonstration of delivery concepts and enhance the overall customer journey. You will also need to utilize your critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions, effectively organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Responsibilities

• Provides ABB Electrification technical training solutions to internal, external, and end users.
• Responsible for all assigned product training requirements, including online e-learning, how-to-videos, webinar content, virtual classroom content, and face-to-face content creation.
• Assists in the needs assessment process and makes suggestions to improve design, creation, innovation, and updates of training programs or materials.
• Collaborates with other Instructional Designers and subject matter experts in the development of train-the-trainer materials.
• Requires ability to storyboard and develop easily accessible and understood technical solutions based on application and specific customer needs.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in instructional design, engineering, or related field in the United States.
• Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
