About the position

The Instructional Designer Intern position at ABB offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in instructional design within the Electrification Business. Interns will work closely with the Technical Training Manager and contribute to the development of training solutions that support ABB's business objectives. This role emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and the application of instructional design principles to enhance training materials and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provides ABB Electrification technical training solutions to internal, external, and end users.
• Responsible for all assigned product training requirements, including online e-learning, how-to-videos, webinar content, and face-to-face content creation.
• Assists in the needs assessment process and suggests improvements for training programs or materials.
• Collaborates with other Instructional Designers and subject matter experts in developing train-the-trainer materials.
• Storyboards and develops easily accessible technical solutions based on customer needs.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in instructional design, engineering, or a related field.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with instructional design tools and methods.
