About the position

As an Instructional Designer Intern at ABB for Spring 2025, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects that contribute to the Electrification Business. This internship is designed to provide you with practical knowledge and skills in instructional design, allowing you to support ABB's operations while enhancing your personal education and employment opportunities. You will be working onsite, collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to creating sustainable solutions in line with ABB's core values of care, courage, curiosity, and collaboration. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing technical training solutions related to ABB Electrification. This includes developing training content such as online e-learning modules, instructional videos, and instructor-led delivery materials that align with ABB's business objectives. You will also be tasked with managing all assigned product training requirements, which encompasses the creation, maintenance, and improvement of various training materials, including webinars and virtual classroom content. Additionally, you will assist in the needs assessment process, offering suggestions to enhance the design and innovation of training programs. Collaboration with other Instructional Designers and subject matter experts will be essential as you work on developing train-the-trainer materials that improve the customer journey and delivery concepts. Your ability to storyboard and create accessible technical solutions tailored to specific customer needs will be crucial in this role. Proficiency in Windows OS, general instructional design tools, Microsoft Teams, Office Suite, and multimedia applications is required to succeed in this internship.

Responsibilities

• Provide ABB Electrification technical training solutions to internal, external, and end users.
• Develop online e-learning, how-to-videos, webinar content, virtual classroom content, and face-to-face content.
• Manage all assigned product training requirements, including maintenance, improvements, and updates as needed.
• Assist in the needs assessment process and suggest improvements for training programs or materials.
• Collaborate with other Instructional Designers and subject matter experts to develop train-the-trainer materials.
• Storyboard and develop easily accessible technical solutions based on application and specific customer needs.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in instructional design, engineering, or a related field in the United States.
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite is required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
