About the position

We seek a highly motivated and skilled instructional design student intern to join our team for a dynamic internship opportunity. Instructional design interns will work primarily alongside our instructional designers in developing online courses, professional development, and micro courses. This internship is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the field of instructional design, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting. Interns will engage in various tasks that are dependent on time and need, ensuring a diverse and enriching experience throughout their tenure. The primary responsibilities of the internship include designing and developing online course elements in the Canvas Learning Management System. Interns will apply instructional design best practices and principles to ensure that instructional materials align with learning objectives and meet the needs of diverse learners. Additionally, interns will assist instructional designers in evaluating and revising existing course materials to improve learner engagement and outcomes. This role also involves supporting the implementation of new tools and technologies to enhance the learning experience, participating in team meetings, and contributing to improving instructional design processes within the office. Furthermore, interns will assist in ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty throughout the fall and spring semesters and review and remediate content for accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop online course elements in the Canvas Learning Management System.
  • Apply instructional design best practices and principles to ensure instructional materials align with learning objectives and meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assist instructional designers in evaluating and revising existing course materials to improve learner engagement and outcomes.
  • Support the implementation of new tools and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to improving instructional design processes within the office.
  • Assist in ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty throughout the fall and spring semesters.
  • Review and remediate content for accessibility.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere
  • Experience with After Effects and Illustrator are preferred.
  • Experience with Digital Video Cameras.
