About the position

The Instructional Designer at Hartford HealthCare is responsible for developing and maintaining course curricula and training materials for Epic applications. This role involves collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to ensure alignment between system design and lesson plans, conducting training for new staff, and coordinating training for software upgrades. The position requires effective use of multimedia technology and authoring tools to deliver educational content, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and a commitment to helping users learn and adopt new applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain course curricula and training materials for Epic applications.
  • Participate in workflow analysis and design with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Build, test, and maintain the training environment.
  • Conduct training for new staff and coordinate training for software upgrades.
  • Train Credentialed Trainers to assist with classroom training.
  • Utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools for education delivery.
  • Support the management of project scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Assist in the design of training policies and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to create and maintain work plans and status reports.
  • Convert traditional courses into online learning modes.
  • Develop instructional materials consistent with adult learning theory for e-learning delivery.
  • Execute training delivery in preparation for go-live and beyond.
  • Maintain tools and processes to support training program effectiveness.
  • Support the development of role-based certification and assessment programs.
  • Train faculty and staff on technical and pedagogical skills for e-learning course development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills in a healthcare environment.
  • At least five years of relevant healthcare experience.
  • Experience with adult learning and curriculum delivery preferred.
  • Must attend required Epic training.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
