About the position

The Instructional Designer/IT Support Specialist at the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine (OCOM) plays a crucial role in enhancing the technological proficiency of faculty, staff, and students. This position involves conducting workshops, providing one-on-one support, and integrating innovative technologies into the learning environment. The specialist will work closely with the IT team to align training initiatives with institutional goals, ensuring a seamless digital experience for the OCOM community.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct workshops, training sessions, and seminars on technology tools.
• Provide one-on-one technology support to employees and students.
• Assist end-users with technical issues and support inquiries.
• Leverage emerging technologies to enhance digital education.
• Create and manage instructional materials and best practices for users.
• Keep the OCOM community informed about updates and best practices in digital tools.
• Collaborate with the IT team to align training initiatives with technology goals.
• Research new methods for accomplishing tasks and participate in training sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of experience in higher education focusing on technology support and instructional design.
• Proven experience with Google Workspace, Zoom, and Apple device management.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in creating accessible instructional materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Graduate degree or advanced certification in a related field.
• Experience with emerging technologies such as AR, AI, and VR.
