About the position

The Instructional Designer / Leadership Training Facilitator at Altec Industries, Inc. is responsible for designing and delivering leadership training across the enterprise. This part-time role involves conducting needs assessments, recommending training content, and measuring training effectiveness, with a focus on facilitating on-the-job training and classroom activities for complex topics. The position requires travel to various locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and assesses effectiveness of on-the-job training and classroom activities.
  • Demonstrates advanced classroom management and facilitation skills.
  • Assesses and helps improve others' facilitation effectiveness.
  • Partners with subject matter experts and/or designers to modify or create training and reference materials.
  • Ensures leadership training materials are continuously updated based on current best practices and feedback.
  • Maintains training records, runs reports, and schedules appropriate training activities.
  • Conducts curriculum development in conjunction with instructional designers and management.
  • Interfaces with management to ensure training activities meet current business priorities.
  • Gathers and analyzes statistical performance feedback on learners and shares with appropriate parties.
  • Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or associate concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent directly applicable experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Five years of experience with advanced instructional design or classroom facilitation.
  • Five years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and eLearning development software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, researching, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
