About the position

The Instructional Designer / Leadership Training Facilitator role at Altec Industries focuses on developing and delivering leadership training across the enterprise. This part-time position involves instructional design, conducting needs assessments, and measuring training effectiveness, with a travel requirement of 25-50% to various locations as needed. The role aims to enhance on-the-job training and classroom activities, ensuring that training materials are up-to-date and effective in meeting the needs of learners.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and assesses effectiveness of on-the-job training and classroom activities.
  • Demonstrates advanced classroom management and facilitation skills.
  • Assesses and helps improve others' facilitation effectiveness.
  • Partners with subject matter experts and/or designers to modify or create training and reference materials.
  • Ensures leadership training materials are continuously updated based on current best practices and feedback.
  • Maintains training records, runs reports, and schedules appropriate training activities.
  • Conducts curriculum development in conjunction with instructional designers and management.
  • Interfaces with management to ensure training activities meet current business priorities.
  • Gathers and analyzes statistical performance feedback on learners.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree highly desired or equivalent directly applicable experience on a year for year basis.
  • Five years of experience with advanced instructional design or classroom facilitation.
  • Five years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and eLearning development software.
  • Excellent problem solving, researching, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leadership training facilitation.
  • Familiarity with eLearning development software.
