About the position

The Instructional Designer position at CA Technologies, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for producing advanced learning content tailored to meet the diverse learning and performance needs defined by Broadcom Education. This role is essential in supporting a variety of audiences and behaviors to achieve strategic business goals. The Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with senior management to conduct comprehensive job, task, and needs analyses, identifying learning and performance initiatives that align with business priorities. The position requires the design and development of blended learning solutions utilizing various delivery modes and technologies, including instructor-led training, self-paced training, and online learning support. Additionally, the role may involve procuring and managing external vendors, as well as measuring the effectiveness and business impact of the deployed learning solutions. In this role, the Instructional Designer will lead the design and implementation of curriculum, ensuring that learning content is consistently integrated across different roles and tailored to meet audience-specific needs. The position also involves working with subject matter experts to gather and organize content for development into learning materials. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with various Broadcom groups, including Development, Support, Services, and Marketing, to plan and execute objectives effectively. The role may also require meeting with employees, customers, and partners to solicit feedback and requirements, ensuring that the learning content is relevant and effective. As a technical trainer, the Instructional Designer will serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring the instructional integrity of the curriculum while demonstrating expertise in major products and best practices. The position requires participation in curriculum analysis and design workshops, technical walk-throughs, and pilot classes, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness of content. The Instructional Designer will also support Sales and Technical Sales by providing information on products and assisting with specific sales opportunities, further enhancing the educational solutions offered by Broadcom.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct job, task, knowledge, and skills analysis to determine learning and performance needs.
  • Lead the design and implementation of curriculum and develop appropriate plans to assist in achieving organizational goals.
  • Ensure that learning content is consistently integrated across curriculum and roles and is tailored to audience-specific needs.
  • Lead the creation and updating of current instructional and performance strategies and processes.
  • Work with subject matter experts to gather, analyze, and organize content for learning development.
  • Collaborate with other Broadcom groups such as Development, Support, Services, and Marketing to plan and execute objectives.
  • Meet with employees/customers/partners to plan work and solicit feedback and requirements when necessary.
  • Work with other Readiness Curriculum Development Teams to ensure consistent presentation and delivery mechanisms for learning content.
  • Validate the effectiveness of learning content using appropriate methods.
  • Coordinate development efforts with the Learning Systems and Infrastructure Team to implement new learning delivery systems.

Requirements
