This position is responsible for producing advanced learning content to support the learning and performance needs defined by Broadcom Education for a variety of audiences and behaviors to achieve strategic business goals. The role involves collaborating with senior management to conduct job, task, and needs analysis to identify strategically aligned learning and performance initiatives. The instructional designer will design and develop blended learning and performance support solutions utilizing a variety of delivery modes and technologies, including instructor-led training, self-paced training, and online learning support. Additionally, the position may require procuring and managing external vendors while measuring the business impact and effectiveness of deployed learning and performance solutions. The instructional designer may also assist the department manager in mentoring and coaching other instructional designers and relevant staff. Key responsibilities include conducting job, task, knowledge, and skills analysis to determine learning and performance needs, leading the design and implementation of curriculum, and ensuring that learning content is consistently integrated across curriculum and tailored to audience-specific needs. The instructional designer will work closely with subject matter experts to gather, analyze, and organize content for development into learning materials. Collaboration with other Broadcom groups such as Development, Support, Services, and Marketing is essential to plan and execute objectives effectively. The role also involves validating the effectiveness of learning content and coordinating development efforts with the Learning Systems and Infrastructure Team to implement new learning delivery systems. For those taking on additional responsibilities as Technical Trainers, the role includes serving as a technical expert on content development projects, ensuring instructional integrity, and demonstrating expertise with major products within designated solutions. The instructional designer will also support Sales and Technical Sales with Education solution development by providing product information and assisting with specific sales opportunities. This position requires a seasoned professional with a full understanding of instructional design principles and the ability to resolve a wide range of issues creatively, often working with minimal supervision and making independent decisions that affect curriculum development.
