About the position

The Instructional Designer position at the Colorado School of Public Health is a vital role within the Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center. This position focuses on expanding learning opportunities for the public health workforce by collaborating with faculty, external partners, and subject matter experts to develop training materials and online courses. The role involves providing technical support, developing multimedia content, and staying updated with emerging practices in public health education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop asynchronous learning opportunities using tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, and Articulate Storyline.
  • Maintain and update training portals and learning management systems such as D2L Brightspace and Canvas.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop online training content.
  • Train faculty and staff in the use of learning management systems and applications.
  • Coordinate instructional activities and manage logistics for distance delivery technologies.
  • Provide technical assistance and course management for workforce training courses.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, or a related field.
  • At least one year of professional experience in instructional design or related fields for Intermediate Professional level.
  • At least two years of professional experience for Senior Professional level.
  • A shareable professional portfolio with at least three examples of instructional design work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, and Articulate Storyline.
  • Experience managing websites and learning management systems.
  • Experience with web conferencing and video editing tools.
  • Knowledge of HTML coding or other programming experience.
  • Experience teaching and supporting individuals new to technology.
