About the position

Walker Healthforce is seeking an Instructional Designer for a healthcare client located remotely. This position is a contract role that requires the individual to be responsible for designing and developing multimedia eLearning courses to support enterprise initiatives, ensuring smooth and coherent content delivery. The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in creating engaging and effective learning experiences that meet the needs of the organization and its employees. The primary responsibilities include designing and developing eLearning programs using instructional design methodologies, which encompass the phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The designer will also create supplementary materials such as handouts and video tutorials to support training plans. Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Compliance Training teams is essential to gather source data, establish design expectations, and provide constructive feedback on storyboards and draft content. The role requires staying updated with current industry trends, learning solution best practices, instructional writing styles, and techniques, as well as web-based design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop eLearning programs using instructional design methodologies (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate) that include video, exercises, and assessments.
  • Create supplementary materials such as handouts and video tutorials to support training plans.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Compliance Training teams to gather source data, design expectations, and provide feedback on storyboards and draft content.
  • Stay updated with current industry trends, learning solution best practices, instructional writing styles, and techniques, as well as web-based design.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years working in instructional design and eLearning development capacity
  • Experience in instructional design for eLearning, storyboarding, needs analysis, and writing for eLearning design
  • APTD / CPTD from Association for Talent Development (ATD)

Nice-to-haves

  • Video development using Vyond
  • eLearning development using Articulate 360 (Storyline or Rise)
  • Bachelor's degree
