About the position

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Instructional Designer to support KITS and our government customer. This is a Remote Opportunity. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in supporting the US Department of State in managing the Global Public Affairs Web Assets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating web-based training using a Learning Management System, ensuring that the training reflects a firm understanding of system usage to effectively train users on WordPress as designed for that web property. The role involves designing images, themes, and graphics that adhere to 508 compliance and industry best practices. The Instructional Designer will also configure the learning management system to align with a target training campaign, collaborating with developers and business analysts to understand training needs and convey feedback from the community during training sessions. Additionally, the candidate will create master training plans for users globally across all GPA websites and coordinate with other trainers to develop a training rollout strategy, which includes planning and implementing the training. The position may require holding manual virtual and in-person training sessions at headquarters as needed. Staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to learning management systems is essential to drive software infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Create web-based training using a Learning Management System for WordPress.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional web-based training experience.
  • Experience in training plan rollout and implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Nice-to-haves

  • Website experience in an environment using a Content Management System such as WordPress.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Jira).
