About the position

The Instructional Designer at First American Title Insurance Company will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing various learning content aimed at empowering learners and instructors. This remote position focuses on creating high-quality educational materials using industry-standard instructional design processes, while fostering a collaborative environment with subject matter experts and stakeholders. The role emphasizes a human-centric approach to learning and continuous assessment of training effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Build commercial quality learning content using industry-accepted instructional design processes.
  • Develop webinar content for instructors and learners, including infographics, job aids, facilitator guides, and presentation decks.
  • Support self-paced learning efforts by creating and updating eLearning courses, blended learning programs, and digital adoption tools.
  • Perform needs analysis and communicate development requirements and progress to all levels within the organization.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and determine effective learning methods.
  • Translate complex information into clear and engaging learning resources to meet learning objectives.
  • Continuously assess training effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
  • Participate in system administration and course maintenance for the Learning Management System (LMS).

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience designing training for adult audiences in a professional environment.
  • Instructional design certificate from an industry recognized organization preferred.
  • Information Mapping/DocuTools Certification preferred.
  • Experienced in instructional design theory and/or learning principles (ADDIE, ARCS, Bloom's, etc.).
  • Demonstrated critical thinking to review and analyze data.
  • Strong training project management skills with an emphasis on needs analysis, scope, time estimations, tracking, and execution.
  • Proficient in graphic/user interface/interactive design.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate 360, Snagit, Camtasia, Microsoft Office Applications, and online graphic design applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks.
