As an Instructional Developer Senior at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming technology into opportunity by designing and developing instructional approaches and interactive courseware that meet the training requirements of the US Navy. Your work will be pivotal in ensuring that today is safe and tomorrow is smarter, as you will be at the forefront of innovation in enterprise IT. This position requires a strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and the ability to oversee the completion of specific programs and projects. You will be responsible for analyzing employee learning needs and collaborating with subject matter experts to outline tasks for course or curriculum development. This includes defining the needs for the course, determining the course medium, content delivery, assessments, and complementary learning approaches. In this role, you will also oversee the development of learning solution documentation, such as storyboards, project schedules, video scripts, job aids, and courseware. You will be tasked with developing and monitoring metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training and development initiatives. Your excellent oral and written communication skills, along with your interpersonal and teaching abilities, will be essential as you contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards in instructional design. Additionally, you may coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals, ensuring that the team maintains high standards in instructional development. To succeed in this position, you will need a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and at least 5 years of related experience. You will assist in the planning process, supervise project personnel, and coordinate with administrators to ensure project success. Your responsibilities will also include conducting analyses to identify and validate training requirements, developing training planning data, and determining follow-on training recommendations. You will develop testing instruments to assess learners' previous knowledge and measure their performance throughout the training process. Furthermore, you will guide the sequence of learning experiences based on learning psychology and ensure that the project team remains on track through effective meeting planning and conflict resolution.
