About the position

The Instructional Designer for Tesla's Semi Service Training Team is responsible for developing effective course content and innovative training solutions to support the onboarding and training of internal and external partners. This role requires collaboration with subject matter experts to create engaging learning experiences across various delivery modes, including online and instructor-led formats. The designer will also manage multiple training development projects while ensuring alignment with learning objectives and user experience improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with subject matter experts to design and develop engaging content for various audiences and delivery modes.
  • Support training and onboarding of internal and external partners with the Semi Service Training Team.
  • Recommend applications or layouts to improve user experience in current classes and trainings.
  • Maintain and revise existing learning products, considering audience and learning modalities.
  • Serve as project manager on simultaneous training development initiatives, adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Engage with Content Experts and stakeholders to create interactive, clear, and error-free content, including Standard Guides and Web-based training.
  • Act as a liaison between technical and innovative groups to address training gaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field or equivalent experience in designing and developing training curriculum.
  • Experience creating high-quality eLearning products and web-based training.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate Storyline.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Curiosity to understand strategic priorities and how learning can address skill gaps.

Nice-to-haves

  • Existing eLearning portfolio showcasing previous work in training development.
  • Experience in technical writing and creating standard guides.
